Green tea is made from unfermented leaves and reportedly contains the highest concentration of powerful antioxidants called polyphenols.

These are substances that work by scavenging free radicals which are damaging compounds in the body that tamper with DNA or genetic material. If you want a food that is high in antioxidant levels you are definitely going to want to increase your intake of green tea.

Another food that has a high antioxidant level is fruit. There is actually quite a variety of different of different fruits that contain antioxidants and this includes cherries, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, crowberries, blueberries, wild blueberries, black currants, pomegranates, grapes, oranges, plums, pineapples, kiwi fruits, and grapefruits.

Vegetables such as kale, chili pepper, red cabbage, peppers, parsley, artichoke, Brussels sprouts, spinach, lemon, ginger and red beets, dry fruits, legumes, nuts and seeds, and cereals are all high in antioxidants as well.
